Older, crankier and with bifocals. An SL legend returns after a 10 yr retirement. I had to buy all new computer equipment for this new gaming session. Only my Merc keyboard has been repurposed.
I learned Vent has been replaced with Discord. Oh how things have changed. Battlefield 6 was the bait. Thrawn and Dalia started the conversation. That little spark has grown into a raging fire. With now on a nightly. You can find Thrawn, Jeff, Jediwhitey, T1mbo, Coque, BlackDalia, Mossie and myself trying to regain former glory. Albeit, the physical challenges listed above we slipped into the old days feeling of comradely. It’s great to be back. Thank goodness steam friends list and Shattered Legion steam page survived to reconnect everyone. Thanks to Thrawn for talking me into BF6 and setting up a discord server and Sprite for re-establishing the website and forums.

Awesome to see the site back! If I’m ever able to be online, you’ll (hopefully) hear a less squeaky Swamp Rat than I was in high school all those years ago. Have had to take a few years hiatus for life and the career, as well as having a daughter who just celebrated a 1 year birthday, but trying to get back into playing here and there some nights once the family goes to bed. No bifocals yet, but the gaming rig is relegated to a closet now instead of a whole room…oh well.
Battlefield 6 is in my library but if I haven’t had much luck in getting my PC to secure boot for the anti-cheat software to allow the game to run. Once I get the time mainly and the know-how to solve this, I’d love to join in whenever everyone else is playing something.Thurunion
It is truly awesome to see people back! I’m also gonna sound a little more different than before as I think I created this back when I was in early high school as well; Not rockin the bifocals myself either. 😄 I had a small hiatus, although less for life reasons, I just couldn’t seem to figure out what was wrong with my PC. I upgraded some parts in the process and it would seem just in time before the current “RAMageddon” with the exception of a new graphics card. I do work evenings on pacific time though, so I’m usually on later at night (as I post this at 1:25am) or in the morning, not so much afternoons though besides my days off. I don’t have BF6 as the full version of the game but I do have the “Redsec” part of that. I may or may not have it in the future as I’m strongly considering a switch to Linux (although, I’ve also been saying that for months so…). Currently my main game has been “Splitgate: Arena Reloaded” and occasionally some “Helldivers II” with my brothers and cousins. If you ever want to find me on discord, I’m simply Thurunion on there as well! Steam you just add the [SL] to it. If I’m online, feel free to hit me up if you ever want to play sometime!
